The evil force called the Unseen One is the focus of the story. Once the Unseen One takes control of a human being, that person uses torture, horrific events, hallucinations and terror to add weight to the side of the ledger. Refusing to do so as ordered by the Unseen One results in consequences ranging from eerie, other worldly events to out and out horror.
