A decent enough short story, although a bit more depth to the main character would have been nice, we know very little more about her by the end of the story than we do at the outset. Why is she out walking alone? Does she do this sort of thing all the time or is it a new pursuit? Does she have a family waiting for her somewhere or is she lonely?
And considering for the first half of the story Claire is the only character in the narrative, I

found it increasingly irritating that she had to be named in almost every sentence. Using her name once a paragraph would have been ample.
