About Gillian Colbert

Gillian Colbert discovered writing later in life, but is now addicted to words, syllables and phrases. She loves books and stories of all shapes, sizes and genres, but most of all Gillian loves to write about people overcoming their insecurities and finding their mate. After all, risk and passion are what make life worth living.

In her spare time, Gillian is a mother and dog owner. Her two Pitbulls have proven to be a love story in and of themselves. Every day, their affection and bond grows and deepens. In truth, their deep canine love with its angst, joy, play and encouragement is inspiration for Gillian. Everyone should love so purely.

Other works by Gillian Colbert include Louisiana Whispers, Coming Out of Her Shell, and Breaking Through as well as several short stories.

My review from Goodreads below:

I was so looking forward to finding out what happened to this story. I read the first two chapters at the end of Forbidden Fruit and it left me hanging. I thought that was the end…NOT! What a teaser…that’s okay because I immediately went out and purchased the complete though too short story. It was worth all 7 chapters.

Susan is a professional woman who works too much. She doesn’t have many outside interests and her love life is non existent. . Susan’s been told she was a ‘cold fish’ and didn’t know how to have fun. She WANTS to change and maybe find a hobby or some other interest besides work so takes time off every Thursday afternoon.

It all starts when a new neighbor Eric is introduced at a block party. Eric is F.I.N.E…Fine and Susan is already imagining all sorts of naughty things about Eric. Her first afternoon off started simple enough with a little sunbathing by her pool. A bit of fantasy and a little 'O' later and she realizes that she had a watcher. Oh how Eric watched!!!

What a wonderful story. I’m waiting for Ms. Colbert to write a full length novel with the wit and creativity that she exhibited in this story.

Susan and Eric are made for each other, and the way they find this out is a fun read. Gillian Colbert is now on my auto-buy list. Hot stories that make sense - what a concept! Coming Out of Her Shell and Simon Says are my favorites so far, and I'm looking forward to more from this great author.

This book was quite enjoyable. I liked the story's pacing and especially enjoyed Eric's character. While it isn't a long story, it is a complete one, which is something that I look for in whatever book I read, even those that come in at around 17,000 words.

Voyeur erotica is new to me, but I find something fascinating about Gillian Colbert's style. I suspect she writes slowly and chooses her words with care, as a jeweler sets just the right stone. I think Colbert writes honestly: I know she writes well. For erotic fiction, hers is benchmark.
