This sexy, sassy mystery "sizzles" as the author proves that her hunky hero and spicy Southern heroine can heat up the pages quicker than two goats in a pepper patch. Extended description

Sequel to A CUTTHROAT BUSINESS, Savannah Martin Mystery #1

ABOUT THE BOOK

When Savannah Martin’s fellow Realtor and friend Lila Vaughn is robbed during an open house, Savannah rushes to the rescue with tea and sympathy, or at least a really good lunch and a shoulder to cry on. However, Lila seems more peeved than distraught, and her main gripe is that the sexy robber who tied her to a kitchen chair — for her own good — didn’t follow her suggestion to tie her to the bed instead. I loved it. A wonderful cozy mystery with a strong plot and solid relationships. I enjoyed the first book a lot, and one of the things I liked was the potential for development in the main character, Savannah. This book was even better, and she shows the growth she made in the last book; she is aware that her old world is not the real world. Only a short time has passed between the two books.

I am frustrated that she does not see what I see about Rafe, but I could be wrong in my expectations there is a great deal of evidence to support her beliefs. My disappointment is in the character, not with the author's pacing of the relationship. I think part of her level of expectations of Rafe is protection from being disappointed. At least now she is admitting that there is something between them, and she knows that she trusts him. Their relationship is my favorite thing about the book, but I also love that she is not stupid. I enjoy cozy mysteries but sometimes I want to shake even my favorite characters and shout "get a clue". Savannah does not always make the best decisions, but she usually either realizes it or is making the decision based on what she knows.

I received a copy of this book in appreciation for reviewing the first one and I am sure in hopes of a review of this book. It is my delight to do so!

Hot Property is the second book in Jenna Bennett’s Savannah Martin mystery series.

Here are my top three reasons to read this book:

1) The chemistry between Savannah and Rafe is off the charts and had me squealing at 1 am.

2) Ms. Bennett makes you feel like you are wandering the streets of Nashville with Savannah. This woman writes good setting.

3) Mystery is one of Ms. Bennett’s strengths. I wasn’t sure how this one would shake out until the heart-stopping end.

Maybe it’s because I went to Killer Nashville in 2009, but I loved how she brought the city to life on the page with just the right level of detail.

Ms. Bennett does a phenomenal job merging the romance and mystery genre here.

Rafe Collier and Savannah Martin smolder the pages. I’m surprised I don’t have burns on my fingertips. Seriously, fantastic chemistry and tension. I would sit through 200 pages of them just having dinner. Because they are that amazing to read.

There are elements of suspense as well that keep you turning those last 100 pages faster than a microwave can explode chicken.

If you love a good mystery and enjoy a dangerous flirtation that could break into a killer love scene at any moment, this is a book for you.

I’m looking forward to cracking open the third book in the Savannah Martin series. Or rather swiping the page on my Ipad.

Fresh of reading A CUTTHROAT BUSINESS, I felt like I needed more Savannah Martin and even more importantly I needed more Rafe Collier. So I immediately picked up HOT PROPERTY, the second book in this series.

HOT PROPERTY picks up a few weeks after the end of A CUTTHROAT BUSINESS and sees Savannah trying to get on with her life and sell some houses. Unfortunately her chosen career is in jeopardy when a group of robbers decide to target realtors.
Soon one of the realtors turns up dead and Savannah has to try and catch the murderer before she ends up the one dead.

I love this series and so it's not going to come as a surprise that I simply adored HOT PROPERTY.

HOT PROPERTY is the perfect mix of mystery, romance and adventure. The mystery was very good and left me guessing to the very end. This is the second time that Jenna Bennett has almost stumped me. I like to think I'm getting pretty good at solving cozy mysteries but so far Savannah is solving them before me!

I really enjoyed Savannah as our amateur sleuth and even though she does put her foot in it (like when she tells Rafe exactly how inappropriate it would be for her to date him and how her family would not approve - girl forget the family, he is hot!) she is so sweet and likable and I find myself rooting for her to survive the adventure, and maybe sell a house or two!!

Readers that adore Rafe in A CUTTHROAT BUSINESS will be pleased to know that he is more adorable and more sexy in HOT PROPERTY. Every time he says "darlin'" in that southern accent of his I swear I feel my toes curling involuntarily!! Trust me I'm pretty sure he has the same effect on Savannah. Watching their friendship and the sexual tension develop between them was a treat.

If you like your cozy mysteries on the sexy, romantic side I strongly encourage you to pick up HOT PROPERTY. You definitely won't be disappointed. The only think you will be asking yourself is why you haven't read them before now!

HOT PROPERTY gets a 5 stars from me. It is a perfect winter read. No there is no Christmas or snow in it, but there is lots of edge-of-your-seat adventure and quite a few steamy tension-filled scenes with Savannah and Rafe to warm up your bones!

Savannah Martin would like nothing better than to return to her job selling real estate and put away memories of murder and attempted murder. Fortunately a series of robberies helps until it strikes a little closer to home when her friend and fellow realtor is involved. Unfortunately, so is the man she's kind of interested in, Rafael Collier. Before too long her friend is dead and Rafe is prime suspect material. Savannah has no choice but to do a little investigating on both their behalves.

Hot Property is another winner from Ms. Bennet. I loved watching Savannah struggle against her proper upbringing and stretching herself for her friends. Particularly endearing is watching her rail against the restrictions, even as she uses them as a shield to protect herself. The supporting cast is sublime and outrageous, adding just enough misdirection and red herrings to keep the mystery fresh and exciting.

If you're in the market for a great cozy mystery, Hot Property might be just what you're searching for. (Sorry, couldn't help the pun)

Hot Property is the continuation of A Cutthroat Business mystery series featuring Real Estate Agent, Southern Belle, and Amateur Sleuth Savannah Martin. The romance deepens and tensions are high and true to the title, this book is one Hot Property. Jenna Bennet has done it again and even better. When Savannah's friend is murdered after a string of robberies at open houses, Detective Tamara Grimaldi suspects Rafe Collier. Savannah is determined to find out who the real killer is and clear Rafe Collier of any wrong doing. I really enjoyed the humor, romance, sassiness, and class in this mystery that keeps you guessing until the end. It is a page turner not only for the mystery surrounding the robberies and the murders, but for the sparks that fly between Savannah and Rafe.

More fun with Savannah, who always seems to find herself right in the middle of Nashville's latest murder.

I love Jenna Bennett's voice and her descriptions are sometimes giggle worthy.

The plot is fast paced and I can't wait to start book three to see if Savannah and Rafe finally take things to the next level.
