Millicent Anders leaves the safety of her family in New England to travel west. Along the way she meets some interesting characters. Her adventure truly begins when the train she's on gets robbed south of Pittsburgh. Alone, stranded in the wilderness she learns she must trust the only other person there, a freed slave named Uriah. As they travel together they learn about each other and learn to trust. It's a hard journey with lots of pitfalls. The Delivery is an adventure with a heart.
