Daniel, this was a great short story. Well done. I love apocalyptic fiction and this is one of the better short stories in the genre that I have read.

Awesome story. Just been sitting here reading it for the past three hours, and it was so worth it. I really liked how you portrayed the familial relationships, and the characters were wonderfully developed. And I love that last simile :)
