This is one of the better freebie ebooks I've downloaded here. The first chapter is a bit over-the-top with the writing (didn't match the fast-paced romp I was expecting from the cover art), but things improved as we went along. Once the heroine wakes up, we've got some humor and the writing style settles into more what you'd expect from this kind of adventure. A clean read overall (something rare on Smashwords!) and a fun little adventure.

Rogue Hunter Gaia #1 Into the Abyss is the first of three in a series of short stories. Into the Abyss is about Zyra Zanr being sent on a mission to capture a woman named Molly Black.

Molly has stolen something from the Alliance and they want it back badly. They want it back so bad that they contacted Zyra to hunt her down. Zyra take the mission because she has history with Molly and wants to get revenge.

Being put into a cryo-chamber and being shipped to her destination she begins her mission.

I enjoyed this story and look forward to reading the second. I recommend this to all science fiction fans.

I haven't read Kevis Hendrickson's first book Quest for the Hunter but after reading her two small preview eBooks which I throughly enjoyed I plan to grab it.

While I am not a fan of the short story. I am a fan of authors giving out freebies and previews to draw a reader into their realm of literary influence.

I suggest everyone give these two previews a read.

You Mr. Hendrickson are the real deal! This short story is imaginative, submerging, and written exceptionally well! I recommend this and any of Kevis' work to all fantasy/sci-fi readers!
