One of the best historical fiction books since Sharon K. Penman. The author obviously knows his history and also writes in a way that non history buffs get drawn in. A well written book especially for a first book. I love that a map, character list and glossary is provided. I look forward to reading more from Mr. Nolan.

An enjoyable read with lots of vivid descriptions and believable characters. Mr Nolan provides readers with a very approachable taste of Medieval culture and customs.
