This is a very helpful book. As other reviewers remark, there's no padding and fluff. Just salient facts about how to go about promoting your book. The author doesn't pull punches. He makes it clear that you have to put in a lot of effort. Well worth reading. I got a lot out of it, and am sure you will too.

This book is a great resource for anyone looking to learn about self-promotion.
The information is clear and to the point. You don't have to trawl through every sentence in search of what the author is tryingt to say. It is just there, on the page.
The First Ten Steps shold be the first purchase of any new or 'pending' writer. Both indie and traditonal alike.

Ace author Michael Robb Mathias reaches out to new authors in this short, concise, how-to book about promotion tactics for new authors. It’s a fast simple read that makes sense, without the “how to get published and become a millionaire” instructions I’ve seen in many other books. He does not under-emphasize how much time and dedication promotion takes, and also acknowledges the importance of having a good story to start with. For simple promotional tips and realistic expectations, I highly recommend this book to new authors. Congratulations, five stars!

What I like most about this manual is that there is no fluff. It doesn't take 10 pp to get into the stuff you really want to read and learn. The steps are clear and the writing gets right down to the nitty gritty. I don't have to read about the author's indie journey before I can begin working on using the steps.
great job. I learned something in the first 3 pages.
