Review of: A Christmas Vow
I must admit "A Christmas Vow," written by Laura Shinn, surprised me. When I began reading it, I thought, okay, this is going be a nice little young adult romance story. It had all the ear-marks. But woe…not exactly. Let me explain. When the heat level rises from comfortably warm to get down and sweaty, it goes beyond young adult into full blown romance, a sensual delight.
Shanda Bratton and Christopher Milano are best friends and, someday, lovers. As the story opens it reads like a young adult story. However, the story matures into a full blown romance that titillates the senses with sexual tensions and unspoken vows, as the youngsters grow up.
As a romantic read, Laura Shinn manages to engage us from their early life to the present when Shanda is out of college and very much ready for a relationship. Chris, who has kept a lid on his feelings for much too long, finds it next to impossible to hide what is so evident, even from the first paragraph. You know these two are meant to be together. Even though their age difference made it nearly impossible for Chris to share his feelings for years, it's the story of true love, of waiting for Mr. Right, of knowing your soulmate.
Laura Shinn delights us with sexual tensions which seem to grow on the paper as you read. We see the characters literally go from warm to extra hot. It's a beautiful holiday story certain to warm your toes by the fire and send all those heart fluttering flurries all over the bear skin rugs. Don't miss this adorable story of two people growing into a real love. Get that warm-all-over feeling with an ending that is sure to please every reader's quest. A must read for the holidays, Laura Shinn's "A Christmas Vow".
