Short description
"innocents", a pro-life novel, is an illustrative contrast between the extraordinary efforts many will make to protect animal life and the environment, but not protect millions of unborn children, the true innocents.
In days when abortion is arguably the single greatest social and emotional controversy in our nation, "innocents" dares to look at abortion from both sides.
"innocents" is a pro-life novel that dares to look at the abortion controversy from both sides.
Set in Austin, Texas, in the 1990's, "innocents" is an illustrative contrast between the extraordinary efforts many will make to protect animal life and the environment, but not protect millions of unborn children, the true innocents, through abortion.
From its beginning INNOCENTS builds compassion for nature and its denizens, pulling readers into a movement of environmental recognition and action. As reader participation grows, the story line moves slowly, subtly to show the plight of unwanted unborn babies in a world of abortion-on-demand. Readers are brought face to face with a vivid comparison between saving birds and deer, and letting helpless babies be aborted. True injustice is illustrated when those who try to save babies are arrested and prosecuted, while those who work to help the environment are honored. The bumper sticker that reads, “Be a hero: save a whale. Save a baby: go to jail” perfectly summarizes the contrast, the moral paradox, in INNOCENTS.
INNOCENTS follows the lives of four couples, carrying us to and through two pregnancies. In one, an unwanted child is aborted. This death has ramifications for more than just the woman involved. We live through this abortion and its aftermath. In the second pregnancy, also unwanted, the woman struggles with her situation but chooses to let her child live. Lives are changed here as well.
In days when abortion is arguably the single greatest social and emotional controversy in our nation, INNOCENTS rings out a clear cry for justice for these most helpless, most endangered, of all creatures.
