Author/Communications Consultant, Melanie Silos, is an experienced veteran of Learning & Performance Development and a long time avid studier of self-development, spirituality and theology - especially Christianity, Buddhism, and metaphysics.
While attending college studying Liberal Arts, Melanie also worked as a Human Resources Training & Performance Development Specialist facilitating administrative and leadership programs and performance solutions for professionals and executives, and gained certifications in facilitating Skills for an Empowered Workforce/Service Plus [DDI], Instructional Systems Design (ISD), Criterion-Referenced/Performance-Based Instruction [Mager], Information Mapping, Human Performance Technology and Continuous Performance Improvement methodology, and more under the leadership and development of IPS EVP Howard B. Lewis, PhD. Later as a Liberal Arts alumni of Cal State University Northridge (CSUN), with nearly a decade of service with a corporation, Melanie served as a Performance Development Consultant, delivered programs nationwide, and became a self-published author of books on self-development and affirmations.
After in-depth studies of metaphysics and the occult in the '90's, over the past 10 years Melanie gained intensive learning and focus in Christianity from pastors Dr. Gene and Melissa Scott, Joel Osteen, plus other Bible studies and literature for an inspirational focus of encouragement, guidance and empowerment. As an author, Melanie Silos aims to support and inspire the quest for greater spiritual awareness, personal ability, self-development, and a liberal sense of acceptance, and share the love of God with oneness in Christ.
Melanie Silos is also the President and Chief Editor of Rock for Learning to inspire learning and involvement with great music and philanthropic causes to cultivate a better world. As President and Chief Editor of RockforLearning.com founded in 2001 under her leadership of New Moon Publishing & Consulting, Melanie worked with major label artists, in collaboration with their management, publicists, and associates to create and publish the featured articles of Rock for Learning to promote the artist's music and share their selected philanthropic causes to help bridge the gap between supporters and the causes. Featured artists and causes include, Bono/U2 and the ONE Campaign, Oasis, Led Zeppelin/Robert Plant, The Who and friends for the Teen Cancer Trust (TCT), Incubus for their Make Yourself Foundation (MYF), Coldplay for Oxfam/Make Trade Fair, Ryan Adams for Housing Works NY, and more.
Melanie's passion to make a positive difference to cultivate a better world has included work in the community as a political consultant for the preservation of environmental regulations, funding for education, and support of other progressive legislation serving various Democratic state candidates (including CA St. Senator, St. Assemblymembers, and non-partisan local government candidates for Mayor, City Council and School Board in the City of Beverly Hills, Inglewood, and the Los Angeles area California, as well as other state and local initiatives and political action committees. Melanie currently works for a non-profit healthcare organization publishing materials, such as "Be Well L.A.", to help educate, inform and empower people for their livelihood, health and wellness.
