Sam is caught inside the bodies of a killer's victims in the last moments of their lives, her body suffering the same horrific damage. Her body heals, but emotionally she’s hurting. It’s not the first time she’s felt this killer’s energy. Because he changes his method with every kill, the police don’t realize he’s a serial killer. Only one cop, Detective Brant Sutherland, is willing to investigate. When he does, the game changes. The stakes go up, in every way.
Both of these characters were great. I felt for them, especially Sam - though Brant made me think of a modern-day Lancelot. I loved Sam’s affinity with dogs, how she connected to the damaged animals, and how it was important to the book. I believe this is going to be a series, and I'm already eager to read the next one. I highly recommend it.
