Short description

Molly was the theater geek in high school, but now she's all grown up and a teacher. Her only forays onto the stage are with the local community theater group. Then bad boy director Jack Tyler, struggling with his own demons, arrives in Millersburg to rediscover his love of theater. Getting involved with Jack is a risk. Is it a risk Molly's willing to take?

Extended description

Once the golden boy in Hollywood, Jack Tyler's life and career are on the skids. He's fighting his demons and hoping to rediscover his love of theater. Struggling to find some direction, he visits an old friend in Millersburg and discovers the community theater group there.
He also discovers schoolteacher Molly Brighton.
Molly, though, wants no part of the sexy new director. He's too handsome, too charming, too dangerous to her heart. The attraction is difficult to ignore, especially when aided by Jack's old friend, an unrepentant matchmaker with his own reasons for bringing them together.

I really like the premise of the book, being a recovering theater geek myself, and it’s obvious that the author knows how a production runs. The plot device is a pleasant change from the typical romance novel plots out there (though I love those…). The main characters are likable and suitably developed for a light read.

The Three R’s

Rating: X For some wicked hot sex scenes. They’re not overly elaborate, and not full-on erotica, but the descriptions are vivid and will definitely raise your blood pressure.

Recommendation: This is a pretty straight-forward romance novel and tends to follow the archetypal route. If you want a light romance with some steamy sex scenes (you can tell that this author also writes erotica) without feeling totally awkward for reading something dirty, give it a read. If you’re a theater geek, recovering or otherwise, you’ll really appreciate the author’s knowledgeable descriptions of acting in a Community Theater production.

Re-read: Unless theater really really turns you on, you can probably pass this one on to a friend when you’re done. Just not your mom or grandma or anyone that you don’t want to picture getting all hot and bothered, because those sex scenes will send you right out of the kitchen and into the bedroom. As in get out of the kitchen if you can’t stand the heat – and then go to the bedroom where you can do something about it!
