This true story shows off her writing style, which is clear, accessible, enjoyable, imagistic, action packed, with realistic characters, a strong mood, carefully chosen details. I felt claustrophobic about the dormitory, uneasy, just reading about how controlled it was. She knows what she's doing. It's not necessarily the style I seek out personally, as my interest is experimental, so I wasn't as intrigued myself by the bonus stories, but it's simply a matter of taste.
However, the story itself is truly amazing. I'm so glad she told this and we're lucky she's giving it away free here. It says so much about the nature of ghosts. It's revealing, and would surely convince any skeptic. I feel I learned from it, and came away astonished. I thoroughly enjoyed the experience.
