I didn't like Roth. I know everyone loves to read these novels where they fall in love right away with the man and long to be the woman in the novel. I'm not like that. I love to hate the man, the more I dislike him in the beginning the better he gets once I start to love him. Roth hit his low point when he was with Fawn ... if you want to know what I mean you'll have to read it! At that point I thought, nope no way I'm, going to like him if this is how it's going down. Sure, Rainey isn't pretty, she isn't the soft, small damsel in distress. She has a sharp tongue, quick wit, and ample bosom. Still, she deserved the best that Roth could give. I'm glad in the end he delivered!
The story of how Roth comes to be with Rainey was interesting and throughout the book I couldn't help but wonder what the hell is going on here? I loved it. The whole thing kept me guessing. When I thought I had it something else came out from left field and I was left going, HUH?! This was the last book for to me read this month and since I had no set due date I waited until I finished everything else to start. I wish I hadn't! I read this novel in an hour. I couldn't put it down, I couldn't help but just keep reading.
I'm thrilled to see this is a trilogy and I can't wait for the next in the series to come out. Verna, if you need a reviewer for the next book look no further!
