I am a cultural anthropologist who currently lives in the beautiful region of western Quebec. I teach university courses in the fields of Indigenous issues, applied and participatory anthropology, and Canadian studies. I’m working on academic projects around Metis issues in Canada, historical anthropology and Indigenous land-use practices.
My fiction writing is inspired by commercial writers like Neil Gaiman and Charles De Lint; but also writers like Isabella Allende, Paulo Coleho, and Leslie Marmon Silko. I like to bur the line between fact and fiction, weaving the real together with the unreal and drawing deeply on my anthropological expertise and knowledge of cultural tropes, symbols, and mythologies. A lot of my stories are inspired by true events and explore themes around the spirit and mysteries of love, friendships and the greater powers and forces of the seen and unseen worlds.
