About Lee Carlon

Lee Carlon is the author of The Bastard Cadre, a series of fast, fun, futuristic epic fantasy novels without the epic word count.

The Bastard Cadre includes elements of science fiction, mythology, and magic. The stories are set in post-apocalyptic Newterra where the True Gods treat the people like pieces on a game board in their never-ending wars. The world is populated with immortals, AIs, shape-shifters, cyborgs, dragons, and a host of science fiction and fantasy villains, anti-heroes, and heroines.

At the centre of The Bastard Cadre is Avril Ethanson, a young man who was raised apart from the gods and their chosen, and yet is bound as the first-sworn to a scattered cadre of bondsmen. Despite his best efforts to resist, Avril and the cadre he is expected to lead are pulled into a chosen’s machinations and the gods’ deadly games

Well, this isn't my normal tipple because I prefer to go back in time rather than forwards, but the use of the word dragon sucked me in and I'm pleased it did. This is an enjoyable and intriguing jaunt through a well imagined world, with believable characters and quite a bit of action. I'm looking forward to reading the rest of the series, and having checked your website, I can advise you to write on please (oh and I thought world war z was a great movie, that never took itself too seriously (the magazines as protection!) but delivered on action and story line!)

I found this book to be very entertaining and well written.
Never knew what was going to happen next. Red the next one as well " The Godslayers' Legacy" Wonderful! The writer tends to end the books before you are ready! A few typos, but nothing that takes away from the book!

An excellent well crafted story. The young man and his young female friend have a nice balance in their relationship. They overcome the hapless villains with enjoyable cleverness. The story while having some killings is not gruesome. The story is a light easy read. Its a fun escape.
I will be getting his next book.
