Extended description

Headstrong society heiress Iphigenia Wentworth gives birth to an illegitimate daughter. When she realizes the baby has been taken from her to be farmed off to poor relatives in West Texas, she determines to go after her child. Since her inheritance has been taken away, she pays for her passage by becoming a mail-order bride.

Sparks fly when Iphigenia and half-breed rancher Monte Ryerson meet, since he never placed the ad for a bride. One of his daughters wanted a new mother. Monte is haunted by his past -- a murdered lover who may dwell in the mirror necklace she bequeathed him at her death. The ranch appears to be haunted, with strange lights flickering at night and unexplained murders.

Monte finds that Iphigenia is not easily frightened, however. Can their love unite them so they can reclaim her baby daughter and overcome the shadows darkening both their lives?
