About Charles L. Grant

Charles L. Grant (1942 - 2006) was one of the most prolific and respected genre novelists of his generation. He wrote Science Fiction, Fantasy Adventure, Young Adult Horror, movie and television novelizations, Gothic Romances and Historical Romances under a bewildering array of pseudonyms. But he was best known for horror, which he liked to call Dark Fantasy. In that field he wrote thirty novels and collections and edited twenty-five anthologies. He was nominated for awards in all the fields he wrote in including SF (Nebula & Hugo awards), Fantasy (British Fantasy Society & Balrog awards) and horror (Bram Stoker & World Fantasy awards). He was given Lifetime Recognition Awards by the British Fantasy Society, the International Horror Guild, the World Horror Convention and Necon. He was the husband of novelist Kathryn Ptacek and wrote or edited over 100 books.
