"The Dragon's Child" was released in December 2008 in 'Beneath Ceaseless Skies'. "Early Winter, Near Jen-li Village" originally appeared in April 2009 in 'Fantasy Magazine,' and was subsequently included on Locus Magazine's Recommended Reading List for 2009.
