This was a really great story. It had romance, magic and epic battles, everything I love in a fantasy story. The characters were amazing, there back stories are subtly woven into the plot. I would love to read more about their adventures, but this was a very good stand alone book.

This story was well woven together and would make a nice series of stories. Great characters, battles, and world creation.

I enjoyed this book! It has a nice mix of action and character development. The story was fresh and I agree with Scooby's review; I didn't want it to end either.

I think the thing I like most about Tomlin's writing is her heroines. They are always strong and self-sufficient, something sore lacking in a lot of fantasy today. That is not to say she doesn't write great male protagonists - it's just that her heroes aren't afraid of strong women. I look forward to reading more by this author.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading this story. There was adventure, magic, sword fighting and romance all in one. The story was well written and flowed nicely. I couldn't stop reading it. I wanted the story to continue further. I would definitely recommend to others to read the story of Tamra and Jessup.

I think the story itself is best described as a “high fantasy romance”. The world-building is perhaps the most remarkable part of this story; it was clearly given a lot of thought and fleshing-out prior to the story being written. The plot itself is soundly constructed, moving from one point to the next without wandering or getting wrapped around itself.
