Short description

In a forgotten language on a dead planet, they were called Devil Dogs -- ancient warriors. During his Rite of Passage, Dras'unat pilots one of the Devil Dog's flying chariots on a quest to kill a Demon Dog -- the most vicious Beast of the twelve worlds. But mastering alien artifacts is never easy, and killing Demon Dogs is always hard. And putting them together is simply begging for trouble.

For Dras'unat, twelfth son of Chieftain of the Forked River tribe, a Rite of Passage involves more than simply killing a Demon Dog -- the most vicious Beast of the twelve known worlds. To prove his right to lead the future leaders of his tribe, he must kill the Beast using an alien artifact from an ancient race of a long-dead planet -- a race of great warriors once known as the Devil Dogs.

Now, the Devil Dogs fly again. But learning to use ancient artifacts is never easy, and killing demon dogs is always hard... and putting the two together is simply begging for trouble.
