I found the heroine annoyingly immature and kind of stupid. Her blind acceptance of not being told anything about herself and her "special" abilities, her failure to notice or put 2 & 2 together about the hero and anything else in her life was so irritating. The hero is not much more interesting, lacks any depth of character. The story was predominantly immature love struck ramblings of 2 dimensional characters and I could see no good reason for her mother not to give her some info, at least the amount they end up giving her anyway once her life is endangered.

I really enjoyed this book. I enjoy books where the author tells a story that doesn't sound like something I read somewhere else, and I can never remember reading anything like this. I'll have to look into book 2.
