Lily McPherson has packed a lot of living into her sixteen years. Her policeman father died in the line of duty – stopping a robbery at a Robinson’s Supercenter. Her mother’s heart is failing and if she doesn’t get a transplant, she could die. And Lily has become surrogate mother to her brother Kenny.

Lily has lost her faith in God and developed a compulsion - shoplifting. When she’s given an opportunity to skate in the Olympic try-outs can she repair her relationship with the Lord and find the strength she needs to stop stealing?

What a beautiful and uplifting story! Lily has to rise above losing her father and facing the possible death of her mother while trying to become a competitive ice skater. No wonder she turns to shoplifting as a compulsion! Highly recommend this story for pre-teens and teens!!
