About Agatha Feltus

I always knew I was different from other people. It wasn't until I was in my early thirties that I found out that difference had a name ... autism. Specifically, Asperger Syndrome. It has never stopped me from leading a productive life; I have a happy family, a PhD in Chemistry, and a well-paying day job. It is, however, a struggle every day to maintain connections with other people, communicate with them appropriately, and not be confused by their behavior.

I don't let the way my brain is wired limit me in any way though. Sure, I have to spend lots of time at home recovering from being around other people, but when I'm not doing that I am a homebrewer, a National-ranked beer judge, an aspiring triathlete, a windsurfer, a mountain biker, and, obviously, writer. I also have a day job at a large pharmaceutical company.

Oh, and if you're interested how a woman with an ASQ of 41 can be so apparently functional in society ... watch this space. My memoir, including some suggested tips for helping your Aspie kid, will be up soon.
