Jeff Ambrose was born in Missouri, but has lived in Texas since he was ten. Upon seeing the Stephen King American Express commercial when he was in the sixth grade, he pulled THE BACHMAN BOOKS from his mother's bookshelf and started reading RAGE. Soon after that, he started writing. He wrote on and off throughout junior high and high school when he wasn't busy banging out Iron Maiden songs on his guitar. He wrote a little in college, too, but didn't get serious about it until he was in his mid-thirties. Jeff still lives in Texas. He's married and is an at-home dad of four. He probably won't let his kids ever read THE BACHMAN BOOKS, but he does encourage them to listen to Iron Maiden.

A wonderful and quick read. There is a lot of wisdom within from a writer who is not so long removed from the trenches of wannabe writer that he has forgotten. This book was very inspirational. It helped me redefine what it means to be a successful writer.

Loved it! A great reminder of what actually matters, how to have fun and keep writing.
