Short description

The investigation of a mysterious death on the Navajo Reservation in 1960 leads a young stock manager to discover the reasons the Ancient Ones disappeared. The adventure reveals the reason he had to come the first time and why he returned again and again.

Extended description

Pete Satterfield, groomed as a stock manager for the Navajo Nation, is drawn into the investigation of a young Navajo, first as a suspect, then as one whose presence is imperative, because he has been chosen as an intermediary between the present and the centuries-old history of the land on which the reservation lies.

At first, Pete believes he is dreaming, but events which recur at half century intervals, begin to affect more people, officials, and the tribe.

Unknown to him, another, unrelated investigation is underway, a probe which comes to intertwine with his predicament, but these things are merely superficial indications of the deeper and long forgotten mystery of the disappearance of an entire race.

The plot is kind of interesting. He takes you into the mind of a dog and a horse.

But.....The editing is horrific. I think this is a rough draft. you get stuff like "XXX leanedstood against the wall". Apparently the author types two words that he might use and plans to take the wrong one out later.

You also get a couple versions of the same paragraph, one after the other.

You see this stuff multiple times per page, even per paragraph, sometimes sentences. Irritating in the extreme. To the point I don't know if I will make it through or not.

I am giving it one star instead of none since a) it was only $.99 and b) it could be decent if cleaned up.

Stuff like this shouldn't be "published", even in ebook format.
