Ebook short description

A short contemporary romance novel. A sensual romance. Kelsey O'Sullivan wanted a baby, but she'd been married, she didn't want to go through that again. So she opted to have a child by sperm donation. But not just anyone's child, a child where she hand picked the father. Nick Leonetti was a family man. They were worlds apart, they had nothing in common, but she wanted Nick's Baby!

Extended description

Kelsey O'Sullivan wanted only one thing to complete her life, since she'd become CEO of her own sheet metal business...a baby. However, Kelsey didn't want a husband. So she did what any red-blooded American woman would do, she decided to have one by sperm donation. Not only that, she'd hand pick the donor.

Nick Leonetti applied for the job blindly thinking it was a sheet-metal company and he'd be doing manual labor or management at best. Little did he know...

Nick was a family man, he supported his mother, and two younger siblings. He was proud to do it too. But he needed more money, because he had to get them out of Hell's Kitchen and into Queensland where he'd buy them a nice house to live in. The sheet-metal company might do the trick for him...he hoped.

Kelsey was caviar and champaign, Nick was hot dogs smothered in 'kraut. Kelsey knew nothing of being a mother, Nick knew everything of being a family. They had nothing in common. But Kelsey knew....she wanted Nick's Baby!

I don't generally read this type of book, but loved the story. How the writer laid it all out was great as well with a few surprises thrown in for good measure. Made me purchase other books written by the author. Great read!

Now this is not my typical genre of book so I will do my best to not let my review be skewed by that fact. I approached this book fully knowing it was a romance and fully knowing that it would probably follow a certain dynamic. With that said I found this book to be a refreshing aside from most romance books with rather witty prose and a writing style that keeps you looking to the next page. I was fully taken back by the author's style and wish her luck in any future novels.

Nick's Baby was entertaining, very believable, and highly compelling as I turned each page. From Kelsey and Nick's first meeting I was hooked. With deep emotion and desperation flowing from Kelsey and Nick's sense of family and responsibility depicted in Ms. Hestand's unique style, I could not put this one down once I started it. I read it straight through. The passion was palpable between Nick and Kelsey and I applauded Nick's later handling of a delicate situation. Highly entertaining read and I gave it five stars.

What a wonderful story! I was sure from the blurb that this novel would be entertaining, but I didn't realize the range of emotions the story would extract. I found myself laughing out loud, heartbroken and feeling the high sexual tension the two main characters felt for each other. Nick and Kelsey are powerful together and Nick was so easy to fall for.

What I really didn't expect was to so thoroughly enjoy the secondary characters, including Nick's family and Kelsey's mother. And if Ms. Hestand doesn't write a sequel telling Jackson's story, I'm going to throw a fit! *g*

This is one of the best novels I've read recently and I can't wait to explore more of Ms. Hestand's books.
