A very short tale that serves to introduce and give the background story to Sebastian Bandores, who is one of the main characters in "Alone", also by Marissa Farrar.
I'm a person who likes happy endings, and was saddened by how this prequel ended. I wanted the good guy to win. Still, what happens in our past makes us who we are today, and life goes on. So it was for Sebastian as well.
Also included with this prequel are the first 10 chapters of "Alone", which show us the beginnings of the man/vampire that Sebastian is today.
I highly recommend this prequel if you are going to read "Alone". It makes you understand what makes Sebastian tick, and why he does some of the things he does.

After having enjoyed Alone I thought this was a great little read to fill in Sebastian's past history.
