As he turned to leave a police car came around the corner and out jumped a policeman that he had seen in the diner, one that had spoken of the great chase of the two felons that had confronted him and Adele that night. Christopher knew from instinct this police officer knew and abused the authority he had been given. He felt that old anger begin to rise as the police stepped right into his face and pointed his nightstick in a menacing manner at him.

He had done nothing wrong but the policeman decided tonight was picking on the innocent night. All he was looking for was an excuse and Christopher knew it. Question after question and attempt after attempt failed and that angered the policeman even more.

All Christopher had to do was keep out of any kind of trouble for another two weeks and he was off probation. Threats of arrest brought on no sign of fear and that angered the policeman even more.
