Short description

Kane is the story of rural poverty, the power and the impotence of family, the premium our society places on beauty, the sadness that comes with the realization the economic ladder is more difficult to climb than we imagined and how far we'll go to escape. Yet it is also the story of patience and perseverance, the time we need to embrace, understanding, truth and the importance of family.

I found this to be such a great story. Very well written. Really shows the struggles of a lower middle class family and how many different factors affects their lives and relation to eachother. This books strikes up many powerful emotions as we see the family struggle to accept their life the way it is and to see the joys they do have.
