This is not your typical love story, this is a love story with another love story, with another love story with another love story.

Rather than a story about a couple, this book has different couples with their own story about their meetings, paths, relationships and their ever afters.

One couple about a security detail meets fashion designer, 2 brothers needing to overcome their past and the women that they met, an FBI agent and his job dangers versus a special woman in his life. Different couples with different interests, jobs, etc and how they make it come together. While this may be one book, it has four stories you will love to read. A little bit of something for everyone.

You can’t help but enjoy this book. Great characters, interesting plots, an overall good read.

What do four women who come from very different walks of life have in common? They are each searching for a man to spend their life with. They want unconditional love, friendship and have it wrapped in a nonjudgmental person. Each has her own issues to deal with and finding that special man won't be easy. When love hits though, they know it without a doubt. All of the women are looking for someone with a secure heart. Someone they can count on forever. Now, if only their knight in shining armor will step forward. He might change their life, but they're more than ready for it.

A love story in four parts, this book is tremendous! A Secure Heart will melt your heart as you get to know each of the characters. THIS is what a tasteful, well-written book should look like. I recommend this one if you are ready for that warm fuzzy feeling to just envelope you. You'll find yourself sighing at the romance and blushing just a bit at how active these four women can be. Contemporary yet a touch old fashioned, A Secure Heart is a lovely mix of all you could possibly want in an excellent book.

I only found one issue and it's small. Seemed as though the part 4 was a little more rushed than the others.

I gave this one a 5 books plus out of 5 books because it proved once again romance is not dead!

This is my one of my favorite reads from this author. The way she weaves each character with the next story kept me turning pages. Smith Security services ,Smith Bros.fight club and Safe haven are where all of the delicious men in this book are from. They all connect throughout the book in the different stories of their life. Some are related and those that aren't are friends. These men and the ladies that come into their lives help each other through their good and bad times. They connect in so many ways. Awesome read. You must read this book.

Ms. Parkerson blending of four interwoven stories put me in mind of Dee Henderson’s O’Malley Chronicles. The major difference being that Ms. Parkerson’s characters have steamy sex and not necessarily inside the boundaries of marriage, either. The first such scene almost gave me heart flutters.

However, like Ms. Henderson’s work, Ms. Parkerson has both strong female and male lead characters. Romance is often borne from what seems at first unlikely pairing.

The stories seem somewhat superficial at first but then as it progresses you learn more about the characters and what makes them tick.

The stories also have intriguing layers to them. So if you think you’ve figured out what’s going to happen next, think again. It really is a good read from beginning to end.

Overall I enjoyed this book. I think the first two stories were the strongest and the ones I enjoyed the most. I found this book entertaining, but not very deep. The writing had a lot of typos- so much so that I also had to go back and re-read some parts to get what was going on. The other part I had trouble with was that if felt like I was dropped in the middle of a story, especially so in the last two stories. I do understand that this might be the mystery and what makes this book enjoyable to some, but for me I like a little more build up of new characters, not just having them dropped in and we are supposed to understand and connect with their love of each other. I also skimmed the 'erotica' part as I prefer a love story rather than sex, but what I read of it was decent :) Again, overall a decent story. Thanks for the read!

This is an awesome book. all the stories were wonderfully linked together, this was not your usual romance novel. I loved the different aspects of love, passion and conflict delivered in this book. Flower was one of my favorite characters. Charity has done it again. I have also read The Society of Sinners it was also wonderful.

A Secure Heart written by Charity Parkerson is a brilliant book that involves hot security men and FBI agents and the women they meet, fall in love with.   I rate this book 5 stars as I found myself  smiling, laughing, giggling, crying,  shocked, surprised and I was left yearning for more.

I hadn't heard of author Charity Parkerson before, but I am sure to pick up one of her books again.  I like the way she writes as its very easy to understand and of course the men are so hot and wow. Jacob, Shannon are hello!  Congrats Charity I enjoyed the book and I got lost in your world.  I am grateful I won a copy of your book through librarything.  Looking forward to reading more of Charity Parkerson.

I won this book through LibraryThing in exchange for a review - so here it is.

Let's get the only negative out of the way first. The author would benefit from a good editor. There were times when I had to stop, and reread sections to really understand what was happening. Fortunately the lack of great editing did not really hurt the story.

This book was a bit of a love story but in an interesting way. I enjoyed the way in which the author took a set of characters and created four consecutive stories. She was able to keep the stories interesting by her choice of story lines. Even though this book is essentially a adult romance, I found it to be well written with good characters. I found myself cheering for the characters even though they were not all "good" people.

I may be in the minority but I thought this book to be about how people come off as mean, arrogant, callous, etc. to some people yet they come off exactly the opposite to others. Basically, everyone has good within them if the right person comes along to bring that person to the surface.

This is the second of Charity's books I have read. They seem like simple romance stories, then as you read on you are enraptured in the stories of men and women who find their true love thru dangerous and unhappy circumstances. I like the way this is seperated into seperate but connected stories. You really get a in depth look at each of these peoples lives and how past and present experiences change and affect their way of thinking about and relating to other people. The subtle connection gives you the feeling that all of the characters are of the same family or should be. A very very enjoyable read.

Secure Heart is a collection of four interconnected stories tied together with family and business ties. Each story follows classic romance format. For Romance fans, like me, that is a positive. (We like our pleasure time reading to have happy endings.) The setting, if not the plot line, of the first two, Flowers and Chocolate are realistic – at least feel plausible. The third and forth get more far fetched with secrete antiterrorist private company. But I have never been one to look for reality in my fun reading. The characters that run though all four stories include a fashion designer raised by hippies, a cross dresser, a set of twins named Bob and Weave, an orphan artist and a security agent seer who is dying. All are quirky, fun and likeable. The plots have just enough twist to keep you reading, but not enough to get you tangled up or stressed. The sex is like the characters – fun, funny at times. It is adult up not erotica. All together Secure Heart is a fun read.

Review first published on my blog: http://memoriesfrombooks.blogspot.com/2011/10/secure-heart.html

A Secure Heart is a collection of stories centered around the men of a security service company. The characters in the different stories do interrelate. The relationships continue from one story to the next. However, each section of the book focuses on the love story of one character.

A Secure Heart falls into the "adult" fiction genre, a fact I did not realize when I requested the review copy. I normally do not read this genre. However, having received the book, I did decide to read it. I will not comment on those aspects of the book. If that appeals to you, you will enjoy the book. It's not something I choose to read. That being said, I still did enjoy the stories themselves.

The stories each have substance to them. The erotica is part of the story, but it is not the story. Elements of situations the characters find themselves in are real. One story deals with friendship evolving into love. One story deals with the thought of losing a loved one and what you would do to save them. Another deals with infertility and its effect on a relationship.

If this genre is not one you read, perhaps you may be able to look past it and enjoy the stories themselves. If the genre does appeal to you, then you get the added bonus of a good story to surround it.
