Short description

Jesuit Lies or a Pirate's Fortune? Pirate Captain Tomcat Barrel wasn't happy to find himself with a hold full of Jesuits instead of treasure, but the Black Robes swear they know the location of a trove of gold. Now the question is whether Black Lips Hetchy or Don Escrado, Squire Phosper's philosophical monkeys or his enticing daughter, Jesuit poison or Tomcat's own crew is the greater danger!

Extended description

When pirate Captain Tomcat Barrel captured a Spanish treasure galleon, he expected a king's ransom of gold and silver. Instead he found a
collection of Jesuits, among them his comrade-turned-clergyman Diego. The Jesuit's Father Miguez buys his fellows' lives with a secret: somewhere nearby is an island ringed with blue sand, and buried there is a pirate's fortune in treasure. So begins a voyage of discovery in the Bahamas, where every cay holds the promise of gold or hidden danger. Tomcat's mate, Stephen o' the Steeple, demands the death of the Black Robes, and Diego cannot decide whether to remain true to the Jesuit way or take the pirate path. Tomcat finds himself running from both his scoundrel rival Black Lips Hetchy and the notorious pirate hunter Don Tomaso Escrado.
Out from a sea between Patrick O'Brian and Jimmy Buffett sails the "Shark's Laugh", braving shot and storm in search for the treasure of the
mysterious blue-sand cay!
