I read through it. The idea, I believe, is the castle and estate are not just haunted but gateways, opening and closing - from an alien transcendent artifact, buried away, opening inversed sequences from a paranormal maelstrom/vortex - creating sounds, lights, and appearances of aliens/other worlds/creatures/entities/transcendents/supernatural phenomena/ghosts - from other worlds and universes.

This is a great adventure thriller that is full of mystery and suspense that will make you read it to the very end.
