Great story almost like you were there. Enjoyed the imagination of the writer. So different from his other stories. It was fresh and as always one would feel there with Delores.
Leaves one feeling so refreshed after reading the story.
I would give it 5 stars

Before the War’s Over is a clever take on time travel, a favorite fantasy of mine. Present day Delores’s passion for civil war history and family ancestry leads her to a fantastic journey through time to 1862. She joins the authoress, her great-great grandmother, of the magical diary in their family home near Baton Rouge, Louisiana during the Civil War.
I don’t want to give the story away so you should read it.
It is imaginative and fun.

The short story Before The War is Over is a fascinating tale which pulled me into the past.
The characters are well rounded, and the premise--a old diary has magical powers--is not new, but the author carries it off with a style that I've not seen in recent years. I was truly sorry when it ended. I wanted more.
I highly recommend it.

Excellent short story! The writer engaged my interest from the very beginning through to the end of the story. It was somewhat reminiscent of the old 60's Twilight Zone shows. Loved it!
