Two companions at the oars.The boat of life, rather than a sturdy hull, seems more likely as a wreck without sails and helm, floating on a sea out of space and time, in a distressing and motionless drift towards far-off and unreachable dockings, different for each of the three seamen. They are bewildered and dimmed by dreams, nightmares, mirages, hopes and repressed yearnings, which rise from unrulable hazes and breakers, and in the meantime they cannot but hate each other and resort to violence. Since life is a dream and every event is a dream within a dream, the only reality able to terrify the sailors is the boat of death, the relentless Charon's ferry - silent and threatening - which is bound to swallow them up with their illusory existences.
