Just two stories appear in this volume. The second follows a not-quite-wide-awake commuter going to work but the first isn't a conventional short story. Extended description

The first of this brace of short stories is told by way of a series of articles from a variety of (fictional) newspapers. Because of the nature of newspapers, the reader needs to make his own mind up about how much of the story has been reported and how accurate that reporting might be. He must also decide how much credibility he's prepared to give to local witnesses, as reported by the papers, and their possibly wild theories.
The second story is far more conventional. It features an office worker on his daily commute into a city. He's possibly not quite as wide awake as might be ideal, but on the other hand be might be the one who's alert and everyone else misses what he thinks he sees.
Neither story spoon-feeds a beginning, a middle and an end, but part of the fun of reading is having the mind challenged, isn't it?
