(Review for the complete "The Blue" series until book four)

I'm not really into the 'teen angst drama' type of stories, and it took me a while to download and read this series. It become quite a pleasant surprise the excellent quality of the writing and the superb ingenuity of the plot.
This is no "Twilight". The story actually evolves and its characters grow, make mistakes and become lovable, despicable, surprising, etc. Sometimes even all the prior at the same time.
"The Blue" it's not a teen story, despite the age of the main characters. It is at most a young adult series, not because of the so called "adult situations" portrayed along the series, but mainly because of the depth of some situations that those characters face.
The biggest challenge of this series is not the sex between the characters (the few instances of it) but the way as religion and mythology are interwoven and displayed.
"The Blue" is one of those series that you should not miss, and the biggest reason for read it is that from book to book the story get better, bigger and, best of all, more relevant.

I finished this book just a while ago and I thought it was of the best eBooks I have ever read :)
And that...how you added something new to what we know as evil. And I like when the book has many characters like this one. And there are normal issues (like family) and then there's something beyond...

Absolutely great!

This is one of the most amazing books I've read in a long time. The premise is original, the characters are well-written, although maybe a bit heavy on the 'admiration of the male physique'-part (not really a complaint either ;)). I'm in the second half op part 2 now (recovering from the shock of the end of the first half, you probably know what I'm talking about). I'm dreading the fact that I'll finish part 3 before the final part is out....

Thanks for publishing this Josephine, and for free no less. I sincerely hope part 4 is coming along nicely :)

It is very difficult to write a review of only Book 1 in a series. However here goes.
Josephine Dillon is an amazing author, for a first book her story line, character descriptions and detail of environment is profound. David and Dillon, dark and light but with a bond tighter than twins are trapped unknowingly in a Heavenly experiment; follow them, as they interact with a host of characters, into an unbelievable scenario that becomes more and more believable as you read on.
It is extremely unusual to find an author that takes as much care about her secondary characters as her heroes but in this case you become to know them as well, and in some cases better, as David and Dillon.
To say more would give away the story but you MUST read this book and the sequels. I understand that the final book is in the works but please, if you like the first four, let Josephine know. These books are free at the moment grab this opportunity with both hands. You will NOT be disappointed.

"Under the Blue" is an original and imaginative take on the classic theme of man's role in the celestial struggle of good vs evil. The author's twist on demons and angels falls somewhere between Dante and Dogma--dark, witty, sometimes comical, and always highly visual--cleverly juxtaposed with the story of two teenaged brothers living in Southern California.

Like too many self-published works, this novel is in need of a good editor for proofing and pacing issues, but the story is well worth the read and picks up nicely in the second half. The characterizations of the polar opposite but deeply bonded brothers is especially strong; their strange relationship is surprisingly believable and a refreshing break from the paranormal teen romances that have inundated the contemporary fantasy genre.

In all, "Under the Blue" is a dark and delightful debut novel that will leave readers eagerly anticipating its sequel.

What a find ! I saw the cover of this book and like alot of us thought umm this could be interesting. Well the writing is first rate and the story line is something each and everyone of us can relate too. I don't want to give too much away but if you have ever been young and thought what's going here ? Why is everyone not getting it ? Why am I the only one who understands ? Then you'll enjoy reading this book.

One of the best page turners I have ever read! I was immediately hooked and unable to detach myself until I was finished, and afterwards hungry to read more. There are climatic twists and turns with humor in all the right places. Making my reading experience enjoyable and intellectual.
The author displays a profound understanding of her characters, and developed them in such a way that they are relatable and human. As a reader I feel like I know and understand them. I also LOVE that the villains are highly developed and play a major role instead of the typical ominous shadow.
I also find it worthy to note, that as I read this book I feel as if I am physically watching the storyline unfold, like watching a critically acclaimed film.
