Hi and thanks for stopping by.
"One Rode In" is an epic tale about Cal, an older journalist who isn’t aging so gracefully. Once upon a time he was a very successful journalist, but now is on the financially and personal skids of life.
Perhaps like many who stop to consider different novels to read. Cal stumbles on an obscure historic story that may save his career. The massive gun fight took place years earlier in an obscure upstate New York farm town bar. (Read more)
Hi and thanks for stopping by.
He has nothing to lose, he thinks, and saddles up one night. He in his wreck of a car travel a very mysterious road toward the town of Fate, and the bar named Destiny where the bloodbath took place. It's a long wild wet fatiguing, rabbit hole dark ride.
The explanation for the shootings is hidden within the life story of a boy named Malcolm. Magically, Cal learns the boy’s trials, tribulations and suffering through the guidance of a host of ghostly characters. By the end Cal has chronicled Malcolm's story. Intimately he understands why the chaos happened and in so doing gets a life saving story.
This novel is cinematically shown/told in the literary style of Magic Realism. Also, it is structured as a framed narrative as one story tells another. At times there may seem to be some loose ends, don't worry. Please press on. As the chapters fall more and more of those pieces connect and what may have seen obscure, clears. By the end, in a very surprising conclusion whatever may have stayed a mystery, won't be.
If you like this kind of different read, great. If not, Kindle has many other terrific novels to consider.
Best of luck to you in this, and maybe, other lives?
