Helen is a unique talent. Her poems are so subtle in a dark way. I stopped writing detailed critiques when I left college, but they would be irrelevant anyway. Just buy and read, to be impressed.

I've never been much of a poetry fan, but when I happened upon Helen's work via Triond and then Twitter I became a convert. 'Identity' took my breath away; here was someone writing exactly what was in my mind.

I totally recommend buying this, because Helen is destined for great things and now i can say I loved her when she was starting out.

Stripped down, bare bones writing.Takes a few reads to absorb the range of emotions and styles, but once you have gone through it, you want more!

If you are looking for sugar coated, happy clappy poems, then this collection is not for you. This book is about the raw, honest, stripped-to-the-bone darker side to emotions. It doesn't glorify or wallow in them, it just portrays, with crystal clarity, the way real life affects some of us.
Beautifully written, no wasted words, or over dramatic descriptions, great construction and most of all, pure quality of poetic thought. As far as I know, this is the first collection by this poet, she should be very proud of this work.
