Extended description

Will Caylee's salvation come from the solitude of the cold, dark grave or from the sinful delights of surrendering her body and soul to the seduction of a wickedly sexy, dark and dangerous, powerful immortal?

From the beginning of time, Haden's kind has fought to stop the deadliest forces of darkness from destroying mankind. He has never feared defeat until now. He would sacrifice anything, even his life, to protect Caylee. But despite possessing the dragon's fierce nature and power, there's little hope he'll save her from a lust-crazed vampire that a rogue demon is aiding. Instead of completing the ancient ritual that'll give his eternal breath to her and bind their souls together for eternity, will Haden be forced to kill Caylee to prevent her from suffering a never-ending thirst for blood?

I was given this book in return for an honest review. Haden is a warrior and a demon. Unlike other demon stories, in this book the demons have been protecting the humans since the beginning. Haden is obsessed, in love and wants to mate with Caylee. Unfortunately due to a vicious attack on Caylee, she cannot stand to be touched. Now a powerful vampire, who has the assistance of a very powerful demon, is after her. I wanted to turn Caylee over my knee because she is so stubborn and won't listen to anything Haden says. It's hard to protect someone who never listens (anyone with kids can relate, LOL). The danger isn't just from the vampires though, her own uncle is a horribly abusive person who uses her attack to control her. Will Haden ever get her to trust him enough to follow his intstructions, can they be together forever as mates, or will her obsessive inner demons get her killed or worse? Sorry, you have to read it yourself to find out. I loved this story, Caylee's character, even though I wanted to smack her, was actually a more realistic portrayal of a victim than most. She didn't just instantly get over her past when confronted with a hot guy. I liked that. You find yourself rooting for Haden, Caylee and Haden's team of demons. I loved it. WaAr

Eternal Breath of Darkness by Candice Stauffer
Haden Drake has lived a long time. Rescuing his soul mate last year changed him. Instead of the big bad warrior demon he has always been….she is all he desires to protect these days. Where everything in him wants to claim her and make her his, he’s still a gentleman not an animal. Well unless you want to consider the part of him that can become a huge fire breathing dragon….but animal no. Unfortunately his intended only seems to see him as a bossy friend.

Caylee Adams was so tired of Haden’s heavy handedness, they were only friends but he was always telling what she could and couldn’t do. She had enough of men like that. First her father and than her uncle. What she really wanted from him was action not words. Not happening though. And there was always her secret past that made her unworthy of a hunk like Haden. She quickly finds out she should have listened to Haden when she ventures off into the forest without him.

This book never gets boring. Haden and Caylee have a long road ahead of them but we get to meet their friends along the journey….and their enemies. Throughout the book different characters come alive and you see things from their viewpoints as well. There are the dark and brooding, the pure evil and the mischievous one who enjoys facebook. A few other stories start in this book, enough to make the reader look forward to them in a future book but not to where I felt that it left me hanging.

Although the books are not considered a series you may want to read them in order. The second book is Sweet Decadent Fire and the 3rd book, Exquisite Breath of Darkness does continue one of the stories that begins in this book.

This book is so hot from page 1 that I couldn't put it down and I am sure my fingertips were singed. Love Haden and feel for Caylee. Can't imagine what it would be like to go through what she does. Great storytelling, draws you right in and won't let go.
