I found this book highly intriguing from the beginning and I was not disappointed in anyway. The story was believable despite the twists and turns that develop throughout. The characters are put into a situation where they truly don't know who is on what side.

As the story winds down you find out new information, making the ending a complete surprise. I'm sure that I'll be replaying scenes in my own mind trying to figure out what clues I missed.

I'm looking forward to reading the sequel, When Love Abides as well as other books by Ms. Budden.

As a person who enjoys reading and craves to spend more time alone, I entered a world I thoroughly enjoyed when I met up with Monica Townsend. I was able to throw myself into her idealistic lifestyle, living life to the beat of my own drum, until she got kidnapped. Then I was merely along for the ride 'cause I had to find out what would happen next.

Enter Chase Travers, a man who made even my toes curl with his sensitivity and honest emotions. He felt a protective instinct towards Monica from the onset but he didn't plan to draw close to her emotionally; his sole desire was to protect her - but one phone call changed everything, sending his emotions whirling out of control.

There were so many twists and turns. I was turning pages as quickly as I could, wondering what would happen next - totally drawn into the world Norma Budden created with her colorful cast of characters.

Unlike many books where there are two or three main characters who steal the show, the supporting characters of An Affair to Remember were superbly crafted. I haven't read books by many authors who had a full canvas of characters and wrote them in such a way that each one stood out - that I remembered each by name.

I was really drawn into An Affair to Remember and would encourage both men and women to give this book a shot. I know I'll be reading the sequel in the very near future because I'm so caught up in this world that I wished it didn't have to end.

An added bonus: I enjoyed the way An Affair to Remember was presented. I was able to read along comfortably without stumbling over typos and cringing from a poorly formatted book. This book provided a fantastic reading experience!

Come on! Check it out! I'm sure you won't regret it.

A stalker is watching author Monica Townsend from the shadows. She is kidnapped, and later rescued by the local cop Chase Travers, a man with his own problems. After he saves her they are forced to flee for her safety, with Chase the cop protecting Monica. They end up falling for each other, but can’t be together.
I admit that I kept thinking that this was going to be a predictable story and I had it all figured out. But I was wrong more often than not and I liked that! This novel is on the shorter side (I read it in the span of an evening), but so much is condensed in these pages that it seems like I read much, much more than I actually did. I thought the writing was great and the plot had enough twists and turns to keep me hooked from start to finish. If I had one minor gripe it was the frequent use of italics to show the characters inner dialogue, and for me it was distracting and slowed me down. But I really liked it and would love to read more about Monica and Chase in the future.

When I first started this book, I wasn’t prepared to love it as much as I did! But I really enjoyed it. The characters that Ms. Budden created in not just Monica and Chase, but in all the supporting cast enriched the story and made me feel like I was a part of what was going on. And while at first I was disappointed with Monica’s decision at the end, I understood why it had to happen, and that in fact it, was the very heart of this love story. And I must say that the author’s note at the end reached into my soul…it was so touching. I highly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a great love story that isn’t as predictable as you might think.

What an amazing story! I still have goosebumps! (actual, literal goosebumps!) I read “An Affair to Remember” in one sitting, and I loved how easy this was to read! I was never once bored (impossible with all the crazy drama happening every second!) and the author’s writing style was very engaging and compelling. There were no mistakes or editing errors that I saw, which is always nice. The only thing I thought was weird at first was that it seemed like Monica and Chase fell in love way too quick…but in retrospect it worked with the pace and tone of the story. I really liked this book and recommend it. I’d definitely look for other works from this author as I really like her style!
