Five years ago, Hero Hade's parents died in a car accident. Her older brother, Vaz, was in it, too, but he survived. The two then were put in the care of their oldest brother, Alex, and his wife, Katy. One day, Hero receives an ominous note in the mail. She shows Alex, but he dismisses the note, though he seems a bit unnerved. One night, a strange visitor comes to the Hade houshold. He comes with a message for Alex. Soon, the Hade family is taken off to someplace called the Base. Magicians, sorcerers, demons, and many other beings of magic are everywhere. Hero learns about the magic within her, and her parents' roles in the world of magic. The world Hero once thought she knew no longer exists. She has been thrust into the world of magic, where a battle between the forces of good and evil is looming. Hero's parents were the guardians of the the Key. The Key is the key to the vault of the most powerful and destructive weapon in any universe. Hero soon learns that evil forces are starting to close in on the weapon, called Zxyrzot. Once they get to the vault, all they need is the Key, which Alex and Kelly are now guarding. But then, Hero learns an awful truth. Knowing this truth, can Hero step up and help save all of humanity?
