I really enjoyed this book. It begins a story which is all it is really intended to do. It is well told and draws interest to the next book. It does not stand alone, to complete a story, it needs more.

Very good for a free prequel book. As stand alone it is a bit too short leaving neither enough room for character development nor a proper ending.

I thought this was quite a good free ebook. Just enough to get a taste for the writing style and genre. The story was good too, but I didn't like how the heroine kept trying to imply that she thought the hero was a vampire or werewolf. It seemed a bit much for me.
I still like her other book, Snaring the Huntress, better. It used original characters rather than the perennial war between angels and demons. Good though, but I don't think I'll read it again.

A Dark Kiss of Rapture by Sylvia Day
Renegade Angels Novella Book .5 (Prologue)
These books are about fallen angels, not only do they lose their wings but they are cursed to be vampires as well. Raze is one of them. He had never experienced falling in love and he is one of the biggest womanizers. It is all meaningless to him. Just a way of getting what his body needs; sex and blood. Until he goes to Chicago on a mission and meets Kim.
Kim sees Raze walk into the bar and feels drawn to him. With a father and brother on the police force she can tell the look of a man who is in law enforcement of some sort and has just had a bad day of it. She convinces him that the sexy bartender is not for him...but she is. Neither expect that what was to be a one night stand...leaves them wanting more...much more.
The first full book of this series is A Touch of Crimson, book 2 is A Caress of Wings and book 3 is A Hunger So Wild. There was strong language in the book but it wasn't as sexual as it seemed it would be. Sylvia did a great job of tying of some loose ends but leaving enough untied that you wonder what will happen next. This is a free ebook.
**Sexual situations and language.

Fantastic, well written story. Just wish there had been more about this couple and the story had been drawn out a little more. Overall, another awesome book from an awesome author.
