I am also one of your fans, Brea Bond, but I can't mindlessly enjoy and give five stars. Apologies. The reasoning is that you seem to have a love affair with italics. Most dialogue is filled with italics, which bothers me. I can read dialogue without it. When you add her stream of consciousness in italics, the dialogue italics just get bothersome. Secondly, these aren't exactly novellas, as much as they are installments. The first one sort of has a resolution. The second does not. Overall, very nice work!

I know Brea from back home and I was really curious to read her work. I expected this novella to be well written and thoughtfully constructed, which it is, but I am blown away by how hooked I am on the story line. 'Plain Jane' was just enough to pique my interest in the entire Flicker Blue series. I have been longing for a new book series to obsess over and now I have discovered it. I am waiting on the edge of my seat for Brea to release another installment. Come on, Brea!

I downloaded this as it was recommended to me by a friend. What a great recommendation! I thoroughly enjoyed this novella, and was very keen to download the next installment the following day. The characters are believable and easy to like but the thing that really had me page turning was the drip feeding of the mystery of the story - clues are revealed in an intelligent, sophisticated manner. The clever plot is presented in a clear, well-written and engaging tone which draws the reader in from the beginning. A great fantasy novella!

I didn't decide to review until book three. This series is worth the read. Can't say any more without spoiling the ride for new readers. :)

Best ebook EVER!!! It's definitely fantasy, but it's also a lot like a romance, too. I love these characters, especially Jane and her friend Cris Marquez. I've never read a teen fantasy with main characters who are Mexican, and Cris is one of the best characters in the story. This is my new favorite book! I'm downloading Flicker Blue #2 TOMORROW!!!!

Very intriguing. Nice rags to riches tale, with a seemingly supernatural twist. I will be following the series as best I can!
