Eastern Washington State a gunslinger must confront his Old Testament legacy. And Cain may be genuinely evil, or is being lied to by the devil. Across the United States, the Salem Witch Trials are the backdrop for a small slave boy as he spins a tale of pirates and fairies. Somewhere in India, the last of a Hindu priest’s congregation depart to worship other gods. Meanwhile, a devout Catholic mother receives mysterious phone calls, and circumstance leaves her daughter’s good-for-nothing fiancé to hear the good word. Far from Earth, a crew discovers a world of paradise, except it’s not quite what they expected paradise to be. In the afterlife, one person’s hell is another person’s paradise.
