Ebook description

It’s the 1920s and the prosperity seems as if it will never end. Then, suddenly, the stock market crashes and the banks close, the Matthews’ family farm will no longer produce, and the bankers foreclose on it, leaving them nowhere to live except their old car. They venture towards California, and their faith is tested as they face difficult trials.

This is an excellent short story and would appeal to Young adult audiences. There is a positive christian lesson in every chapter. It has a quick pace to it and an exciting plot.

Historical fiction particularly good for YA audiences. Gives a historically accurate picture of life in the Great Depression from a Christian viewpoint, with a compelling plot line and realistic, sympathetic characters. A page turner that will stay with the reader.
