Excellent book, though I disagree with some of the opinions. The author is obviously enthusiastic about The Monkees and has studied them in some depth. Much like Revolution in the Head about The Beatles, the book gives the reader a chance to crystalize their own views of a song from the author's astute criticism. For me, that was his critical review of Star Collector, one of the Monkees and Davy Jones' great performances. I was surprised to read the author dissing this remarkable work, but all in all, I respected his insights. A solid read: I just bought his Beatles in Mono book, though unfortunately, I couldn't download a PDF version.
