This novel is based on an idea that came to me in December 1996. The novel was written 10 December 2007 – 23 February 2009.

This book is a work of fiction. Names, characters, places, and incidents either are the product of the author’s imagination or, when based on historic persons or songs, are used fictitiously. Any resemblance to actual locales or persons, living or dead, is purely coïncidental.

The quotations heading each section are misheard versions of original lyrics by John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison, and/or Richard Starkey. Most of them were collected from fan sites on the internet, a few originated with the author, and one transcribes George Harrison’s own mistake (‘it seals’ instead of ‘it seems’) in the final stanza of the recorded Beatles version of ‘Here Comes the Sun’. While the original lyrics are protected by copyright, these versions are not. Other brief references to the original lyrics of songs by these four, and by or attributed to Mick Jagger and Keith Richards, as found at open and uncopyrighted sites on the internet, are used herein in an original way for artistic purposes, in accordance with the bounds of the international fair use doctrine.
